National executive

Chair and Founder

Alex leads the SEBP in its efforts to promote evidence-based practices within policing.

His full time job is Director of Threat Leadership at the National Crime Agency (NCA).

Vice Chair

Neil supports the Chair and is responsible for managing the regional executive.

His full time job is Detective Chief Superintendent at the South West Police Collaboration.

Chief Operating Officer

Matt is responsible for the operational delivery of the SEBP's mission and objectives.

He is the only current paid member of SEBP staff.

Secretary

Annabel manages operational activities across the SEBP.

Her full time job is Strategy & Policy Officer at Greater Manchester Police.

Treasurer

Lewis oversees the financial health of the SEBP, including managing its budget and reporting.

His full time job is Manager at Alliotts.

Communications Lead

Annabel creates media content for the SEBP.

Her full time job is Lecturer and Programme Leader at Middlesex University.

James Watson

Design Lead

James develops and manages the SEBP's digital assets, including the website and marketing materials.

His full time job is Lead Service Designer at the Home Office.

Andreas Varotsis

Data Science Lead

Andreas leads on the use of data analytics and machine learning to drive forward the SEBP's mission.

His full time job is Head of Government AI Capability at No.10 Data Science.

Nerys Thomas

College of Policing Liaison

Nerys is the SEBP's direct link to the College of Policing.

Her full time job is Knowledge, Research & Practice Lead at the College of Policing.

Stevie-Jade Hardy

Youth Endowment Fund Liaison

Stevie is the SEBP's direct link to the Youth Endowment Fund (YEF).

Her full time job is Head of Change for Policing & Youth Justice at the YEF.

Roger Hirst

Police & Crime Commissioner Liaison

Roger is the SEBP's direct link to the Police & Crime Commissioner (PPC) community.

His full time job is the PCC for Essex.

Central Co-ordinator

James covers Cambridgeshire Constabulary, Bedfordshire Police, Hertfordshire Constabulary, and Northamptonshire Police.

His full time job is Superintendent at Cambridgeshire Constabulary.

Jennifer covers Essex Police, Norfolk Constabulary and Suffolk Constabulary.

Her full time job is Strategic Analysis Manager at Norfolk Constabulary.

Geoff covers all non-UK police services.

His full time job is Principal Criminologist at the Metropolitan Police Service.

London Co-ordinator

Peter covers the City of London Police and Metropolitan Police Service.

Julia Hall

North West Co-ordinator

Charlotte covers Humberside Police, South Yorkshire Police and West Yorkshire Police

Her full time job is Principal Lecturer and Deputy Head of Social Sciences at Sheffield Hallam University.

Trustees

Founding Trustee

Alex brings a wealth of policing experience to the SEBP, with his most notable roles including Chief Constable at West Mercia Police, Commander for Serious Violence at the Metropolitan Police Service and Assistant Chief Constable at West Midlands Police.

Chair of Trustees

Simon has worked for and with police for over a decade, including as Director of Home Affairs & International Programmes at BIT, and Head of the Strategic Insight Unit at the Metropolitan Police Service. He is now an independent consultant.

Trustee

Ben held a wide variety of leadership, operational and strategic roles over nearly 17 years at the Metropolitan Police Service, ending his time as a Chief Inspector. He is now Chief Operating Officer at Summer Isles Enterprise, and also a Trustee at Transform Justice.

Lewis has helped a plethora of businesses navigate their finances over the years, and has supported the SEBP since it was founded.
